Pep Rally for Peace in the Streets (PRPIS), Power Jam
Music Alliance, Department of Human Services (DHS), and Busboys and Poets Anacostia is honored to
present PRPIS 3rd Annual “D.C.’s MLK Family Day” 2020 commemorative event to be held at Busboys
and Poets Anacostia between 6 pm – 9 pm. This event will feature the distribution of house warming gift packages for families who are
transitioning from shelters. Last year, more than 1,000 families exited the shelter system with support from the Department of Human
Services (DHS) along with the community-based organizations in the homeless continuum of care with
whom DHS partners.
Pep Rally for Peace in the Streets (PRPIS) has partnered with the Department of Human Services, and
several other District-based regional and corporate sponsors to recognize some of these families and
provide them with start-up packages to support their efforts to maintain housing stability.
