Join us for our first Progress LIVE!, an event series sponsored by The District Department of Transportation in partnership with Busboys and Poets Anacostia. This event will be held in conjunction with Busboys' signature poetry Open Mic Night, with a night-long literary theme of “Progress.” You are welcome to join us beginning at 6 pm for a meet and greet with owner Andy Shallal and the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge (FDMB) project team featured in the Fall issue of Progress Magazine.
Enjoy lite fare and happy hour pricing while learning more about how Anacostia and other surrounding neighborhoods of the bridge will benefit from DDOT’s efforts over the next few years.
During the evening’s poetry performance, community artists will speak open poetry centered on the theme of “progress”, paying homage to the FDMB’s namesake and the ideals DDOT still champions today. We're looking forward to seeing you there!
