Have you heard about the Stanford-trained constitutional lawyer challenging Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her seat in Congress? All the way from San Francisco, Shahid Buttar is returning to Washington, D.C., in November to meet some of the thousands of supporters fueling the Shahid for Change campaign. We’re eager to include your friends who share our concerns about the climate crisis, voting rights, police accountability, closing the camps, wealth inequality, affordable housing, and so many more issues.
As Speaker of the House, Pelosi's actions—and omissions—have ramifications far beyond the San Francisco constituency whose interests she hasn't represented for a long time. From enacting fiscal austerity rules to greenlighting increased funding for the concentration camps at the border, she has repeatedly championed conservative interests. It's time to use the democratic process to elect a new voice ready to take bold, progressive action to address the most pressing problems of our time.
