Karaoke Therapy is Takoma Park's most affordable mental health program...because it's completely free!
Twice a month, we gather to sing our hearts out, cheer each other on, and temporarily forget about work, politics, traffic, and whatever spirited debate is currently happening on the neighborhood listserv.
No auditions. No judgment. No pressure to actually sing well. Whether you're channeling Dolly Parton, Freddie Mercury, Whitney Houston, or just enthusiastically butchering "Sweet Caroline," you'll be among friends who are doing exactly the same thing. Studies may or may not show that loudly singing your favorite songs with supportive neighbors is cheaper than therapy and considerably more fun.
Karaoke Therapy is open to everyone, from lifelong performers to people who only sing when they're alone in the car. Come unwind, meet great local people, laugh, and remind yourself that life is better when you're having fun.
