Join us at Busboys and Poets 14th & V for an urgent and timely conversation on Palestine featuring Pulitzer Prize–winning Palestinian poet and author Mosab Abu Toha and Palestinian activist and student leader Mohsen Mahdawi
Mosab Abu Toha is a Pulitzer Prize–winning Palestinian poet, essayist, and educator from Gaza. He is the author of the acclaimed poetry collection Things You May Find Hidden in My Ear, which received the American Book Award and the Palestine Book Award, and has been widely recognized for its intimate portrayal of life in Gaza and the Palestinian experience.
Mohsen Mahdawi is a Palestinian human rights advocate, student leader, and community organizer whose work centers on peace, dignity, and justice. A graduate student at Columbia University, Mahdawi has been an outspoken voice in support of Palestinian rights and the protection of free expression.
In 2025, he was detained and placed in removal proceedings following his public advocacy, an action widely challenged by civil liberties organizations. After months of legal proceedings, an immigration judge terminated the case in 2026, citing the government’s failure to substantiate its claims.
