Join Dr. Zayd Abdul-Karim (Dr. Z), CEO of the Universal Self-Leadership Institute and a certified transformational mindset coach and facilitator, and Kamal Ben Ali, co-owner of DC’s historic Ben’s Chili Bowl, entrepreneur, community leader, and motivational speaker, for an inspiring morning focused on personal growth and leadership.
During this interactive conversation, Dr. Z and Kamal Ben Ali will guide participants through an exploration of universal truths, discuss common blockages that may hold individuals back, and offer tools to help you move forward into a new era of self-leadership.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the speakers and participate in a book signing following the program.

About the Authors
Dr. Zayd Abdul-Karim (Dr.Z) is a transformational learning leader and CEO of the Universal Self-Leadership Institute. He is a native Washingtonian, and a descendant of the founders of the historic Ridgley Methodist Episcopal Church (1871) and School (1926), in Landover, Maryland. Dr. Z has over 20 years of coaching and training experience; he helps purpose-driven leaders and entrepreneurs achieve greater impact, profitability, and fulfillment. He is the author of eight books, including the #1 Amazon bestseller "Engage! To Create Super Performance & Profitability.”
Kamal Ben Ali helped grow his family's iconic restaurant Ben's Chili Bowl into a symbol of community and resilience in Washington, D.C. He is the middle son of Ben and Virginia Ali, who met at Industrial Bank in 1957. Kamal is a respected grassroots leader; he is dedicated to mentoring and empowering young people through mindset transformation, leadership development and entrepreneurship. In his book "Ascend: The Black Man's Guide to Elevation, Success, and Purpose," Kamal shares hard-earned lessons on faith, self-leadership, and turning pain into purpose—challenging the next generation to break cycles, build legacy, and rise.
