Poetry begins beneath the surface.
Writing from the ROOT is a generative poetry workshop led by poet and educator Casey Catherine Moore, designed to help writers reconnect with their inner landscape and explore how the natural world can nourish creativity.
Through guided prompts, discussion, and reflective writing, participants will explore the relationship between language, environment, and the roots that shape our stories. Drawing inspiration from poets such as Emily Dickinson, Mary Oliver, Rita Dove, and Donika Kelly, this workshop invites writers to consider what it means to be rooted—both in place and within ourselves.
Whether you’re an experienced poet or just beginning your writing journey, this workshop offers a welcoming space to ground your voice, generate new work, and grow your creative practice.
🌿 What to Expect
• Generative writing prompts inspired by nature
• Exploration of poetry from influential writers
• Time to draft new work and reflect
• A supportive creative community
