Conversation 1 Defining Yourself: Food and Home as Healing and Art Melani Douglass is a socially engaged artist and founder of Family Arts Museum who believes home is a space for healing. Her current project is “The Prescription is Home: A Manifesto” on view at Mason Exhibitions. @melanindouglass Levita Mondie is a culinary artists and humanist teaches us that we can define ourselves through the food we grow, prepare, and eat together. Her kitchen and gardens are featured in “The Prescription is Home.” @vitatheveganchef

Conversation 2 Leading in Community: Visions for Art, Culture, and Entrepreneurship
Kristina Noell is the executive director of the Anacosita BID since 2018 and a champion of small businesses, economic, and neighborhood development. Through “Art to Go-GO,” Noel stewards strategies and activations that promote the vibrant art and cultural life of the Anacostia neighborhood. @noellkristina
Messay Derebe is the general director of the Anacostia Arts Center, powered by WACIF, whose passions sit at the intersection of art and entrepreneurship. Derebe is leading the renovation of the center so that it serves the community as a “place of possibility” for artists and entrepreneurs in the heart of Anacostia. @anacostiaarts
