LET IT OUT! : A Healing & Poetry Writing Workshop

A Healing & Poetry Writing Workshop for Furloughed Government Workers

📍 Busboys and Poets | 450 K St NW, Washington, DC
📅 Saturday, November 8 | 6:00–8:00 PM
💸 Free and open to the public

About the Workshop

Take a deep breath… and let it out.

This special 2-hour workshop is a space to pause, reflect, and heal through breath and poetry. Let It Out! is designed for anyone seeking calm in the chaos — especially furloughed government workers navigating uncertainty and change.

Together, we’ll breathe, write, and release what’s been weighing on us. Through guided breathwork and creative writing, we’ll tap into peace, resilience, and community. No experience is needed — just come as you are, with an open heart and a willingness to exhale.

This gathering is all about returning to yourself.

Workshop Flow

We’ll start by grounding ourselves, setting intentions, and creating shared agreements to hold space for each other.

💨 6:15 – 6:45 PM | Guided Transformational Breathwork
with Tierra Stewart (Lead the Way)
A calming and soulful breathwork session to help you release stress, reconnect with your spirit, and restore balance.

✍🏾 6:45 – 7:00 PM | Reflection Transition
A quiet journaling moment to process what’s surfaced and prepare to write from a place of peace.

🖊️ 7:00 – 7:40 PM | Poetry Writing Workshop
with Charity Blackwell (Black&Well LLC)
Guided prompts and creative flow designed to help you write your truth — words of healing, resilience, and self-expression.

🎤 7:40 – 7:55 PM | Sharing Circle – “Let It Out”
An open mic-style circle to share your words (if you feel moved to). We’ll fill the room with encouragement, snaps, and love.

💞 7:55 – 8:00 PM | Closing & Collective Exhale
We’ll close in gratitude, affirm one another, and take one last deep breath together.
