Hosted by the legendary E-Baby, this powerful showcase features nationally acclaimed poets Rebecca Dupas, Sir Harvey Fitz, and Gail Danley — each bringing their unique voice to honor the strength, beauty, and complexity of motherhood.

📣 Rebecca Dupas
Dr. Rebecca Dupas is an award-winning poet, author, and multidisciplinary artist whose work spans poetry, prose, photography, and design. A Louisiana native based in the DMV, she’s been featured on Fox 5, PBS, C-SPAN, and in The Washington Post. With over 20 years of experience curating impactful poetry events, she’s a two-time Poet of the Year and creator of projects like Body of Work and The Baltimore Host Retreat. Her published works center the Black experience, and she also serves as a program manager and director of education.
📣 Sir Harvey Fitz
Harvey Fitz is a dynamic spoken word artist, author, and cultural curator based in the D.C. area. A Virginia State University graduate, he’s the creator of Poetic Vibes Open Mic and founder of the Black to The Future Festival in Anacostia. His acclaimed haiku collection, To Haiku’m It May Concern, earned him a DMV Renaissance Award for Best Author, and he’s been crowned both King of Haiku and the 2023 Spoken Word To GoGo Champion. Harvey’s multidisciplinary artistry and dedication to community have made him one of the most nominated figures in DMV arts history.
📣 Gail Danley
Gail Danley is an award-winning poet and educator who began her journey after winning the International Poetry Slam in Heidelberg, Germany. She uses the power of words to help youth and adults heal from trauma, facilitating grief writing workshops with institutions like Johns Hopkins, Sinai Hospital, and Bread for the City. Featured by CBS 60 Minutes, The Washington Post, and The New York Times, Gail also leads teacher trainings at the National Gallery of Art and has been honored as the Maryland Library Association Poet of the Year and Young Audiences Artist of the Year. She’s a proud Scorpio and mother of three.

Eric “E-Baby” Smith is an award-winning spoken word artist, host, and mentor who has performed nationwide, including opening for Musiq Soulchild and Lyfe Jennings. His “1 Poet Poetical Tour” reached over 150 colleges, and he’s been recognized with a Spokenword Billboard Award and DMV Underground Award. E-Baby has released two poetry albums and a book of haikus, and currently hosts monthly open mics at Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville. He also works at the U.S. Copyright Office, educating creatives on protecting their work.
