Reparations & Restorative Justice: Impacted Blacks Speak Out
Come join us at Busboys and Poets in Anacostia on Juneteenth --6/19/2024-- at 5 pm for a powerful event where impacted individuals share their stories and perspectives on reparations and restorative justice. This in-person gathering aims to demand reparations for Black folks who were descendants of the enslaved as a right not a privilege. These folks were not only denied pay for their work during their enslavement but faced worst forms of oppression, lynched, brutalized, terrorized and raped long after that during segregation.
The powers that be need to understand the angst in poor Black neighborhoods might one day reach their palatial mansions in posh neighborhoods on waterfronts. To avoid that, they should start the process of reparations without delay.
