We invite members of the Arab American community and allies to share original or other works of poetry, spoken word, song, and personal stories relating to their perspectives and emotions surrounding the crisis in Gaza.
We aim to uplift Arab voices and create greater understanding and solidarity during these difficult times. This event will take place during Indigenous Peoples' Week as an act of solidarity, recognizing the parallel struggles of displaced and oppressed peoples. This open mic will be a small step towards justice, healing, and community empowerment.
Please join us for this special event as we stand in solidarity with Palestine and reflect on how self-expression is crucial for the Arab American community now as an act of resistance and communal healing. This event aims to create a welcoming and supportive space for the local Arab American community to express their feelings and experiences regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza through artistic expression.
It's an opportunity for communal healing through poetry, spoken word, song, storytelling, or just venting.
Food & drinks can be individually ordered from Busboys & Poets.
