Unfortunately, throughout history, systemic injustices, racism, and discrimination have resulted in a range of obstacles that negatively impact the lives and well-being of Black men and their families. The Heart of a Black Man: Inspiring Stories of Triumph and Resilience is a compelling anthology offering a unique message of hope and empowerment by sharing personal stories of the resilience, perseverance, and triumphs of Black men. Laws himself shares his own story of being misidentified and falsely accused of a crime he did not commit, but his life was still turned upside down. Anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the experiences of Black men and the strength that resides within their hearts should read this book.
Author Larry Laws is joining us on the Busboys stage to share personal recounts of defeating racially discriminatory odds while keeping the heart intact. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during and after the event, and the author will be signing following the program.
This event is free and open to all. Our program begins at 6:00 pm, and will be followed by an audience Q&A. Copies of THE HEART OF A BLACK MAN will be available for purchase before and after the event. Please note that this event is IN PERSON and will NOT be livestreamed.
We ask that guests RSVP in order to receive direct updates about the event from Busboys and Poets Books
