Poems on Inclusion/ Exclusion Written and Performed by 12 Poets

Featuring poems from Former International Slam Poetry Champion: Gayle Danley, Internationally Acclaimed Deaf Poet and Performer: Fred Beam, Deaf Activist Poet: Evon Black and Award Winning Jewish Poet: Sarah Antine and her community writer’s group poets: Kim Meltzer, Suzette Francis, Barry Klinger, Michael Diamond with Johanna Antine, Andrea Zucker, Tova Rubin & Jill Sege.

The various poems grapple with race, religion, family, history, unity, deaf culture, sexual identity & community. In a poem that argues with a Biblical verse that has shaped anti-gay sentiment in the wider culture, poet Sarah Antine begins, “The black and white book has so much white space”. This event is free & open to the public, will include certified sign language interpretation & is sponsored by MSAC.
