Description:

Rise + Rhyme is a weekly morning storytelling and performance series for children ages 5 and under with the goals of teaching children to engage with their community, learn to love performing and become rising artivists!

Today's featured artist is: Miss Niki

Ms. Niki, your child’s favorite Music teacher, travels everywhere around the world and beyond in her Little Blue School bus to share with boys and girls the gift of Music. She pops up carrying her musical bag of “Who Know’s Whats”, singing songs that will have your child moving their bodies and using their voices. Ms. Niki brings her interactive educational music class wherever she goes and will have kids singing and keeping time with a steady beat.

Ms. Niki is a native Washingtonian, singer/songwriter and music educator. She has taught youth music for over 15 years. She is graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts where she began her studies in Classical Voice. After Ellington, she continued her studies in Music at Howard University and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Education with a Minor in Vocal Performance. Ms. Niki has performed lead role as Treemonisha in Scott Joplins opera, Treemonisha and performed with various ensembles throughout the US and abroad. In 2018 she recorded her first children’s EP. It’s Music Time with Ms. Niki, that she began to write after becoming a mom to Lyric and Nile. She is the creator of Niki’s Class, a YouTube channel where she gets to teach children Music all over the world.
