Join us as the top queer poets from North America compete for the title of 2019 Capturing Fire Slam Champion.
The Poetry Slam is the Olympics of Performance Poetry where poets perform 3 minute works without musical accompaniment, costumes or props. The result is political theater that is sharp & passionate with all the emotions of the rainbow.
Poets competing in the semi-finals include Kay Ibrahim, Wes Ryan, Fira Astrali, Dennis Scherles aka D'Skribe, Mia Willis, Michael Marbella, Heather Beamish, Robyn Sidhu, Charles Hines, Anita, Sarah Larson, Tyler Larson, Lin Ezara and more.

Capturing Fire promotes trans and queer artists of the poetry slam and encourages allyship, risk and artistic career growth as poets make invaluable professional and personal friendships so that a Queer literary lineage is set in motion.
