A Busboys and Poetry Event hosted this week by Twain Dooley
Mr. Dooley is affectionately known as "Uncle Twain" throughout the poetry and story telling communities. His wit and insight has tickled audiences since 1994. He has been on ten poetry slam teams, taught workshops, hosted events, and slain dragons. This married father of three wishes only to spread the funk throughout the land.

This talented wordsmith is more than a poet; M’Reld serves as an advocate for change and an artist responsible for her generation. M’Reld speaks the naked truth as she performs her poetry, speaking on a range of topics, which include social injustice, HIV/AIDS epidemic and everyday life issues. Her dedication to the generations to follow is shown through her daily teaching and working within several art programs linked to the Chicago Public Schools, as well as, the special events that she does weekly to support the knowledge and growth of youth. M'Reld is a staple within the community at events that promote peace and encouraging the students&leaders of the future to control their destiny

For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices, and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.
$5 cover. Wristbands are available for purchase online at midnight and in the restaurant starting at 10:00 AM. No refunds. Ticket purchase limit of 4 per person. Guests must have their wristbands (tickets) on upon entering the event.
Seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. No saved or reserved seats are allowed. Failure to check in within 30 minutes of advertised start time may result in forfeiture of seats. Sorry, no refunds.Â
