$150 Cash Prize for Funniest Story

Pre-selected (http://www.storyleague.org/submit-a-story) storytellers and Members (http://www.storyleague.org/storystore) get in for $10. Everyone else gets in for $12 pre-sale, $15 cash at the door.

RULES/INFO: People get 7 minutes to tell a true, personal funny story on the theme "terrifying." No notes or props allowed. Judges' funniest receives a $150 Cash Prize. The audience also selects its funniest. Both winners go on to Story League ALL-STARS Tournament 10 on November 24 at U Street Music Hall, where the prize jumps to $300! And they're also featured on our podcast, Story League WINNERS. Pre-selected storytellers will do a half-hour phone coaching session with a Story League Legend (http://www.storyleague.org/legends).

Submit your 100-word story synopsis here for a chance to compete: http://www.storyleague.org/submit-your-story. Deadline to pitch is Wednesday, October 8 at 3 PM. Our 3 expert judges will consider all story idea submissions and decide which stories they most wish to hear. You will be notified by Friday, October 10, whether you are guaranteed to go on.

Also: 2 storytellers will be selected randomly at the contest.

IMPORTANT: Seating cannot be guaranteed for any ticket holder after 9:00. Line forms approx. 8:30 and doors open soon after. See photo/video/audio release on ticket page.
