On March 5, the State of Texas may execute an innocent man. In 1998, Rodney Reed was convicted by an all-white jury in Bastrop, Texas, of the murder of Stacey Stites. Although prosecutors connected Rodney to the murder through semen DNA evidence, no other evidence linked him to the crime. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and the US 5th Circuit Court of Appeals both denied Reed the chance to present this evidence in open court.
