The Beltway Poetry Slam and Busboys and Poets Presents:
The IWPS FINALS SLAM
Join us for this Specialty Slam, featuring an incredible battle of words, wits, and heart, between the 2015 DC Grand Slam Champion and three other top ranked competitors from the IWPS qualifying slam.
This will be a 4 round cumulative slam in this order:
4 minute round, 1 minute round, 2 minute round, and 3 minute round.
This will prove to be an epic battle, as the winner of this event will go on to the 2015 Individual World Poetry Slam (IWPS) as the Beltway Poetry Slam representative for the D.C. Metro Region. IWPS will be from October 7th – 10th at Busboys and Poets and various venues throughout Washington D.C. As the IWPS Rep your registration to PSI and to the Festival will be taken cared of and you will receive a monetary stipend!

About our Feature:
Bobbi Johnson is a seventeen year old poet raised in Bowie Maryland. She is a rising senior at
Bishop McNamara High School where she is the president of the poetry club as well as the
Untitled Slam Poetry Team. She is currently a member of the DC Youth Slam Team and is the
DC Youth Grand Slam Champion for 2015. Along with poetry, Bobbi’s other passions include
singing and theater. After graduation she plans on getting her Bachelor of Arts degree in musical
theater while studying poetry and perfecting her craft. Her favorite quote comes from Nate
Marshall during Brave New Voices semifinals: “Tis lit, tis real real litâ€.
