The Last Chance Slam—the final opportunity for poets who are not registered to qualify for the last spot in the official competition. Any poet who is not officially registered to compete will have the opportunity to throw their hat in the ring for the last open spot and receive complimentary registration, paid for by PSi. This combination of top-notch poetry and fierce competition is just a taste of what the rest of the week will bring.
Last Chance Slam Rules
Rule One: Participants
*NOTE: The winner must be a member of PSi in order to participate in the 2015 Individual
World Poetry Slam.*
There will 15 poets competing to be the Last Chance Champion, and recipient of that designated slot in the 2015 Individual World Poetry Slam.
-the first 10 people to arrive are guaranteed a slot in the LCS.
-the last five slots will be decided by a paper lottery: papers will be marked 11 12 13 14 15 or
blank. The blank pieces will not be participating in the draw.
Each person who plans to participate should have THREE POEMS!
Each poem must be of the poet’s own construction.
The poet may NOT use props, musical instruments, or costumes. (This includes the removal of
clothing.)
The poems can only be performed by one person.
The Slam is open to all, 18 and up as long as they are present at the time of the draw.
Rule Two: The Draw will happen at 8:30pm sharp
-No proxy may be used to draw for you. You must be present for the draw.
-Once the draw happens the order is set and may not be changed.
