Politics & Prose at Busboys and Poets 5th & K welcomes Christina Crosby to present the new book "A Body, Undone."
After a bicycle accident left her paralyzed, Crosby’s life was changed radically—yet in many ways, she was all the more herself. A professor of English and feminist, gender, and sexuality studies at Wesleyan University and the author of The Ends of History, Crosby had long drawn on critical and queer theory, feminism, narrative, and lyric intensity for her work. As her project became that of healing and learning to live in a profoundly changed body, she drew from her same intellectual passions, and her powerful memoir reflects on her current and former senses of self, on disability, metaphor, loss, and love.
