Description:

This event is a fundraiser for our non profit organization, Association For the Study of African American Life and History, the C. DeLores Tucker Legacy Branch of ASALH.

Journalist/Author/Adjunct Professor A. Peter Bailey has written a two-act play, “Malcolm, Martin, Medgar” that features the three human and civil rights warriors commenting on events that have happened since their assassinations. As could be expected, their deep concerns for their people did not end with their deaths.

With concern, love, sometimes humor, sometimes sadness and sometimes anger they discuss, among other things, the flaws of current black leadership, ways to develop new young leaders, the disappointment with the lack of follow-up of the Million Man March, the election of President Obama, the continued psychological attacks on the minds of black people, the 2016 presidential election, the sagging by young black males, whether sufficient attention was paid to security measures and the grief over leaving thirteen children fatherless.

Role of narrator will be read by Brother Malcolm’s daughter, Malaak Shabazz and the role of Brother Malcolm, by Arjun Collins, his grandnephew.

What would these three civil and human rights icons discuss if they were still with us today? A discussion on their legacies will follow the presentation.

Tickets are $20.00 for this event.  To purchase your tickets send an email to apeterb@verizon.net
