Laura Packer knows that the best way to the truth is through a good story. Whether folktale or true, epic or flash, her stories captivate and amuse audiences in venues as varied as schools and theaters, assisted living facilities and arts festivals, private events and on the streets. Laura has told, taught, ranted, raved, consulted and considered storytelling around the world. When she isn’t telling, she runs venues, coaches, writes, and helps people and organizations find their stories, hone their vision and use their voices to make the world a better place. She is the winner of the 2010 National Storytelling Network Oracle Award, the 2012 League for the Advancement of New England Storytelling Brother Blue Award, 2016 Best in Fringe Kansas City, as well as a semi-finalist in three Boston Story Slam series and the Best Slammers in the Nation. Dennis Dewey’s storytelling career spans nearly four decades, for most of which his primary work has been biblical narratives. He has performed and lectured all over the United States and Canada as well as in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Korea and Israel/Palestine and South Africa. As former Director of the Network of Biblical Storytellers International (www.nbsint.org), he helped establish the NBS Seminar (an annual conference of scholars and storytellers) as well as the Academy for Biblical Storytelling. In addition, he has served pastorates in Presbyterian churches in Upstate New York. In recent years, he has expanded his repertoire to include life stories and other secular tales. He has published scholarly papers and produced a number of audio and video resources. Dennis and his wife Susan live in Utica, New York and are the parents of three delightful adult children and grandparents of one adorable, three-year-old grandson.
