Growing up gay in a tradition-bound Midwest Mormon community, Evans took solace in the wider world National Geographic showed him. Now a professional journalist, Evans has reported from all seven continents for the magazine and is also the author of Bradt travel guides to Iceland and Ukraine. His book recounts the adventures, conversations, surprises, and more from his 12,000-mile journey through every landscape imaginable on his long quest to balance identity and family, love and faith.
