His parents named him Drew Anderson, but the world would know him as Droopy the Broke Baller, and he would know hip hop, comedy, poetry and parody as the strange bedfellows in the orgy of his one-of-a-kind energy. Founder and co-host of the legendary award-winning community open mic Spit Dat, Drew has been a host of the Busboys & Poets flagship location since close to its inception and now proudly serves as the 14th & V venue captain. An educator as well as entertainer, in recent years Drew has had the honor of representing arts, education, and their creative conjunction in the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland as a Young Audiences Teaching Artist Institute Fellow and repeat DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities Fellow.
