Politics & Prose at Busboys and Poets, Brookland, presents Reverend Barry Lynn as he discusses his new book God and Government: Twenty-Five Years of Fighting for Equality, Secularism, and Freedom of Conscience.
Author most recently of First Freedom First, Lynn has been executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State since 1992. Host of the radio daily “Culture Shocks” and a frequent speaker and TV commentator, Lynn has collected a sample of his recent writings on church-state separation issues. Characterizing the religious extremists as an undemocratic “corporate theocracy,” Lynn argues forcefully against subsidized vouchers for religious schools, public prayer, and incursions on individual rights such as abortion and end-of-life decisions.
