Join Eastern Shore activists for a 10-year anniversary screening of the documentary, Food Inc. Maryland's Eastern Shore has one of the highest concentration of poultry producers in the country, with many residents suffering from the health impacts of these industrial operations.
We'll hear from film-featured activist Carole Morison, a former contract farmer, and Food & Water Watch Director of Advocacy Michele Merkel. Both will talk about the current issues surrounding factory farming in Maryland. They will highlight the Community Healthy Air Act, a bill that would monitor air quality around Maryland’s factory farms and make recommendations to protect public health. At the end, we will discuss how legislators have repeatedly lined up with the poultry industry and what you can do to change that.
