A professor at NYU’s Stern School of Business and a frequent commentator on the sharing economy, Sundararajan assesses the strengths and weaknesses of existing models including Airbnb, Lyft, TaskRabbit, France’s BlaBlaCar, China’s Didi Kuaidi, and India’s Ola, and speculates about whether crowd-based capitalism will make everyone a potential entrepreneur, independent and flexible, or if it will merely replicate the disenfranchisement of contract work.
