    Nine on the Ninth

    Busboys and Poets' longest running poetry series, is a special event hosted exclusively by Derrick Weston Brown, the Poet-In-Residence of Busboys and Poets, 14th & V. This program is centered around a unique featured artist, and features a 10-15 minute nine question interview and audience Q&A with the artist called the BluePrint Sessions, and a limited open mic to close out the event.

    Sunday Kind of Love features emerging and established poets from the Washington, DC area and around the nation.     ASL Open Mic

    ASL Open Mic. A place where Sign Language unifies with poets and music. On this night, American sign language users and viewers from all corners of life will come together to recite a poem or a song. This is an open stage for anyone who wants to share written inspiration. Come out and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere while you eat, get your drink on and socialize. Plus, it's great for those learning American Sign Language. Hosted by DJ Supalee.

    Youth Open Mic

    Our monthly youth-focused and youth-led series is held every 3rd Saturday from 5-7pm at 5th & K (doors open at 4:30, tickets $5). We invite all young people (under 20) to come share their poetry, music, rap, story-telling, or other appropriate skills. Email slam@splitthisrock.org for more info. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring an entire class or group of over 10 students.
