Venezuelan Elections and the Institutionalization of Participatory Democracy

In honor of Venezuela Week at Busboys and Poets, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic together with Busboys and Poets invites you to a panel discussion on Venezuelan democracy and the presidential elections that took place in that country last month.

Presentations will be made by two electoral monitors who witnessed the elections first hand: James Gomez-international relations director for the Rainbow Push Coalition and Alex Main-Senior Associate for International Policy at the Center for Economic and Policy Research.  Dawn Gable, Assistant Director of the Center for Democracy in the Americas was also in Venezuela during the elections and will also participate on the panel.  

The discussion will be followed by a Q & A session.
