*SPARKLE* Queer Open Mic presented by Busboys and Poets
5th & K | Cullen | July 25,2012 | 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Tonight's feature is CANDICE DANIELLE.  Candice is a writer and emerging teaching artist originally from the Midwest who entered the world of performance poetry amid that awkward falling-apart phase of finding one’s self in college on the east coast. Her strong desire to piece together again drew her to craft her own literary therapy that self-defined and freed her from past muffling traditions and religious aesthetic.

*SPARKLE* Open Mic Poetry is a queer-friendly and focused reading series that has featured an array of LGBT-dedicated poets such as Michael Montlack (author of Cool Limbo), English poets and open mic hosts Rod Tame and Dominic Berry, Miriam Zoila Pérez (Feministing.com editor), and performance group Eva Brontosaurus.

Hosted by Regie Cabico and Danielle Evennou. *SPARKLE* is held on the 4th Wednesday of every month at Busboys and Poets 5th& K from 9:00 – 11:00 PM.

$5 Cover. On the day of the event, tickets can be purchased online here starting at midnight and in the restaurant starting at 10:00 AM at the Global Exchange Fair Trade Store (cash only).
