+ Rhyme is a weekly morning storytelling and performance series for children
ages 5 and under, stay-at-home parents, and early rising families of all kinds.Today's featured performer, "Kidsinger Jim" Hossick, grew up in College Park and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1984. He then moved to Austin, Texas to become a rock singer and songwriter, but found his true calling to be writing songs for children. After returning to Maryland, Jim settled in Bowie and began performing professionally for children. His six years as a K-8 music teacher in the 1990’s motivated Jim to write some educational songs. A recent career highlight was composing and recording a song for NASA to teach children how airplanes fly.
Kidsinger Jim is listed in the Maryland State Arts Council “Arts-in-Education” program roster. His concerts feature his catchy, danceable tunes, captivating stories, and his desire to create a “POSITIVE-ly Fun” experience!
Open to all with a $5 suggested donation for the performer. Rise + Rhyme is held every Monday morning at 9:30 AM at Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville.
