Peace Cafè: Life in Gaza after the Arab Spring, with Mohammed Omer

Mohammed Omer is a Palestinian photojournalist from the Gaza Strip who has reported for numerous media outlets, including Al Jazeera, The Nation, Inter Press Service and Free Speech Radio News.  In 2008, Omer received the Martha Gellhorn Prize for Journalism, which honored him as "the voice of the voiceless" for documenting “injustice imposed on a community forgotten by much of the world.” His other awards include, in 2009, the Ossietzky and Press Freedom prizes.  (Learn more at his blog, www.rafahtoday.org.)
The discussion will moderated by Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb, board member of Jewish Voice for Peace.
