Peace Cafè: "Can the Occupation of Palestine be Undone?" with Miko Peled

We still hear people talk about the possibility of a Palestinian state being established somewhere in the West Bank and possibly the Gaza Strip.  But is it possible to undo forty five years of Israeli occupation? Can the lines really be drawn so that historic Palestine will be partitioned and two homogenous independent states emerge from this partition?  Is a new paradigm possible?  If so, how could it possibly be implemented to achieve justice and peace for all of the area’s inhabitants?

Miko Peled is the son of the late Matti Peled, a famous Israeli general and hero of the Six Day War, and grandson of a signer of Israel’s Declaration of Independence.  In his recently published book, The General’s Son, Peled describes his journey from loyal supporter to critic of Israel, spurred by the tragic death of his 13 year old niece Smadar in a suicide attack in Jerusalem.
