Ethiopian Diaspora Event
14th & V | Langston | June 16,2012 | 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
"Tikur Sew" is Teddy Afro's new music video, directed by Tamirat Mekonen, that retells the epic Battle of Adwa.  Every bit as inspiring as the victory of the American colonist over the British Empire, the Battle of Adwa was a watershed event that marked the first time that an African country (Ethiopia) defeated a European power (Italy).  The Tikur Sew (black man) video will make it's US premier at community based event, and there will be live art painting, a panel discussion of the importance of Adwa, poetry, and a Q&A with the director Tamirat Mekonen.  One of Ethiopia's most talented artists, Solomon Asfaw, will do a live painting of the Battle of Adwa, which will be auctioned at the end of the event.  For more information, contact info@browncondor.com or call 202.367.6429
